Last Minute Halloween Costumes-Made From Household Items

Calling all last-minute Larrys! If you’ve not got a Halloween costume sorted yet, don’t panic!

Today we’re going to show you a couple of clever ways to make last-minute Halloween costumes out of ordinary household items that you already have lying around at home.

So even if it’s too late to order online or run to the shops, we promise you already have the makings of an amazing last-minute costume right there at home.

Witch tutu made of bin liners

All you need to make this last-minute witch costume is a roll of black bin liners – and EVERYONE has some at the back of the kitchen cupboard.

All you need to do is cut your bin liners into long thin strips and loop them around a long piece of string or ribbon that you can tie around your waist (you can read our full DIY tutorial here). Make it look extra funky by mixing and matching black and green bin liners and wear it over a pair of black leggings with a black top to complete the look.

And if you don’t happen to have a witch hat leftover from a previous Halloween, here’s how to make a last-minute one out of cardboard.

DIY skeleton t-shirt

This last-minute skeleton costume couldn’t be easier to make! All you need is an old white t-shirt that you don’t mind cutting up, and if you’re struggling to find a plain one, a patterned one that you can turn inside out to make it look like a plain t-shirt.

Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to find out how to cut a ribcage pattern into the t-shirt and then wear it over a plain black top. Face paints will complete your spooky skeleton look perfectly but if you don’t have any to hand, you can achieve the same effect with black eye shadow.
