1. The Spring Garden

Easter bonnet designed to look like a Spring garden

Here’s a design that really ticks all the spring boxes. Bunnies. Baby Chicks. Flowers. They’re all here! We’re sure you’ll agree, this look amazing. And in just a few simple steps, it could be yours.

What you’ll need

How to make it

  1. The shredded paper works great as grass, so start by covering the whole rim of your hat with it. Stick it on in small batches using PVA glue and fill in any gaps as you go.
  2. Make some adorable little bunny rabbits by attaching pieces of Easter bunny confetti to small bits of cotton wool.
  3. If you want to create some little bunny feet, just take a piece of confetti, cut off the ears (bear with us, it’s not as bad as it sounds) and attach them to the cotton wool.
  4. Make as many bunnies as you like, then stick them to the dome of your bonnet using your PVA glue.
  5. Take some mini chicks and stick these to your bonnet as well.
  6. Take your felt pieces and cut out some cool flower designs, then stick these to your bonnet.
  7. Finally, use your green felt to create a grass-like trim to stick around the base of your bonnet

2. The Dino Delight

We know that there are plenty of boys and girls out there who aren’t really on board with the traditional Easter route. Luckily for those kids, there’s always another way. In this case, that way involves dinosaurs!

Yes, you can create your very own dino-paradise in hat form! Who’d have thought it? This is an Easter bonnet that’s sure to get everyone talking.

What you’ll need

How to make it

  1. Stick your shredded paper to the brim of your hat to create a grass effect.
  2. Take your eggs and dinosaurs and glue them around the edge of your hat. Have some peeping through the grass, hatching from the eggs, or whatever poses you can think of!
  3. Decorate with plant clippings if you wish – as you can see, we’ve used some pieces from our office fern plant!

What you’ll need

How to make it

  1. Choose your favourite design and print it out.
  2. Cut out the main hat section and the two bunny ears.
  3. You’ll notice that there’s a section marked ‘Glue here’. Follow those instructions and fold the design around to create a cone shape.
  4. Leave that to dry for 5mins.
  5. Fold the bottom of each ear over to make them more 3D, then glue them to the side of your hat.
  6. Once again, leave that to dry.
  7. Cut a piece of ribbon big enough to keep the hat from falling off your child’s head and staple each end to the side of your hat.
