Pretty & Simple Top Table Decorating Ideas

Top Table Decorating Ideas

Everyone will be looking at the top table on your wedding day, so it’s important to do something special with the decorations!

Think of it as the focal point of your venue – it’s where the bride, groom, both sets of parents, the best man and the maid of honour sit, and it’s the most important table by far!

Here are a few simple ways to add special touches to your top table decorations!

Create a focal point

Your top table decorations don’t need to be over the top to be eye-catching – simple can be just as stunning!

Wedding Mr & Mrs Sign

For a pretty vintage look, we’d recommend laying the table with a plain white tablecloth and a hessian table runner like this.

Then scatter it with gorgeous floral confetti and place a stylish Mr & Mrs sign at the front of the table so everyone knows where the bride and groom are sat!

Pretty place settings

All your place settings should be special, but the ones are your top table should be especially so. For a vintage or floral wedding theme, why not lay a real flower on each plate?

You could even do something special to decorate your champagne glasses – how about a straw, a flower and a wedding wand like this in each glass?

Put your cake on display

The top table can also be a lovely place to display your wedding cake (although some people choose to display it on a separate table – it’s up to you). Flowers are also a must!

Capture memories with a guestbook

A guestbook is a lovely way to capture memories of your special day. How about leaving one out on your top table for people to sign as they come up to greet the bride and groom?

We love this vintage guestbook that matches the rest of our top table decorations and it would make a lovely memento to look back on in years to come!
