We can’t help but love the Fourth of July!
This red, white and blue all-American extravaganza makes a fantastic party theme, and even though we don’t celebrate Independence Day over here in the UK, we couldn’t resist throwing a cute 4th July party for all our readers this side of the pond.
So whether you’re throwing an American-themed party or going all out for the Fourth of July, read on for our 4th July party ideas!
Setting up your 4th July party
First things first, pick up all your party essentials like plates, cups, napkins and tablecloths. And needless to say, your colour scheme should be red, white and blue!
We went with these American flag party supplies that immediately stand out – but don’t put the American flag on absolutely everything. Keeping your decorations simple will look much more stylish.
Instead of having all your party supplies plastered in the Star Spangled Banner, mix and match themed items with some plain-coloured decorations. How about some red and white, or blue and white, striped straws? They match the flag perfectly without being too garish!
4th July party decorations
Once you have all the basics for your Fourth of July party, it’s time to have fun decorating! Here are some of our favourite USA-themed party decorations.
What would our 4th July party ideas be without the Star Spangled Banner? It goes without saying that there should be at least one American flag at your party and a large American flag like this would be perfect to hang on the wall behind your buffet table.
Red, white and blue paper fans are another 4th July party staple! They look great hung from the ceiling but we particularly like them stuck on the wall to create a stylish backdrop.
Stars & stripes table centrepiece
Or how about a stars and stripes centrepiece like this? Perfect for keeping the balance between plain and themed decorations.
American flag bunting
Flag bunting like this is another easy 4th July party decoration – hang it along the edges of the tables or along the walls to instantly transform your party venue.
Red, white and blue stars
Or how about some simple red, white and blue star garlands like these? They’re simple, relatively cheap and a subtle nod to the Star Spangled Banner.
